I am a Data Science Manager at dōTERRA Int. and am passionate about data science, R programming, and teaching. Two areas that most interest me are helping others learn programming and teaching data literacy skills.
I became fascinated with the analytics and data science fields in late 2015 when I was researching how to get into people analytics (the data side of human resources). I subsequently spent four years earning a masters degree in human resources and a masters degree in analytics, both from Villanova University. In addition, I also spent (and continue to spend) hundreds of hours studying and learning statistics, machine learning, programming, software engineering, and a host of other data related topics.
In early 2017, I secured my first full-time job in analytics as a Business Intelligence Analyst. After a year and a half in that role I gratefully accepted a job change to Data Scientist and within a year was promoted to lead the data science team as manager. My favorite part of being a manager is teaching and training new (and experienced) analytics and data science professionals programming, analysis, and data science.
